Next Tuesday, TRANSIT will make its way to Homer, Alaska for the inaugural season of the Wild Shore Festival for New Music!
The last time we were in Alaska was March of 2012, when we performed in the Multicultural Drumming and Dance Celebration at the Alaska Native Heritage Center in Anchorage. It was cold, snowy, and beautiful. We’re not only excited to experience Alaska in the summer, but to spend time in the lovely town of Homer. We will be joined by guest rockstar performers Eileen Mack, Vicky Chow, and Katie Cox.
We’ll be presenting an awesome array of pieces by John Luther Adams, Thomas Adès, Sean Friar, David Lang, Steven Mackey, and Conrad Winslow. Additionally, we’ll be a part of a massive community-wide performance of Terry Riley’s seminal work “In C,” and collaborate with Homer’s own Los Holy Santos Gang for a DoubleBill concert, Homer style! Check out the Wild Shore website for more information.
Stay tuned for pictures of “fishing just for the halibut” (pardon the pun, it was too tempting), a floating amphitheater stage, and more!
